Anaheim: Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney

Marceline’s Confectionery is located in the middle of the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, California. It is an old-fashioned candy shop named after the Missouri town where Walt Disney lived as a boy, and can be kryptonite for anyone who has a sweet tooth.

There’s no admission to visit Downtown Disney, and they even have their own parking lot.  Parking is free for up to 2 hours, and additional validation for 3 more hours if you dine at one of the sit down restaurants or watch a movie at the AMC Theater. Without validation, it is $6.00 per hour.

On almost any given day, the store will lure people in by showing off their staff making gorgeous, handmade Disney treats in front of the store window. You can watch the crafts people making goodies ranging from Disney themed caramel apples, chocolate covered crispy treats, or something gooey with marshmallows.

When you walk inside the store, you get a good whiff of the sugary sweetness in the air.  The store is immaculate, and they have all sorts of sweets to tempt you.

Like almost everything at the Disney Resort, the prices are not cheap, but the good thing is these goodies are probably meant to be shared. However, if you are looking to save calories.. keep walking.  Don’t make eye contact and you will be safe.
