If it’s Tuesday, its Taco Tuesday!
The restaurant is located in the shopping plaza off Euclid and Orangethorpe. During the week, I stop at the Starbucks that’s next door and never considered coming here until I was looking for a new Taco Tuesday place. While passing by the entrance, I saw a painted sign on the window that said Tacos $1.45 every day. It was Tuesday, so why not give this place a try for Taco Tuesday.
According to some old yelp reviews, they used to have Taco Tuesdays for $1.35. Not anymore, hence the sign that said $1.45 every day (including Tuesdays). 3 street tacos (3 x $1.45 = $4.35) plus a drink would make my meal $6.35. For about a $1.10 more, I can get the combo meal which includes rice and beans for $7.45. I chose to go combo. Karen chose the 2 chicken enchiladas combo for her dinner.
The cashier gave us buzzer and a tray of chips to eat while we waited for the food. The food came out quickly. The tacos came with cojita cheese and onions, so I went to the salsa bar to add more garnish.
I had the chicken, steak and carnitas tacos. The chicken and steak was just ok, but the carnitas were moist and tender, the best of the 3 in my opinion. The enchilada sauce was a bit too spicy for Karen, and luckily she had the rice to put out the heat.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad place for food. The tacos were tiny (as most street tacos are) but for $1.45, its cheap. Plenty of parking, especially near the old Fresh & Easy side of the lot.
