NHL Playoffs: Anaheim loses 1st game to Edmonton (#EDMvsANA)

The Ducks swept Calgary in round 1, and the next opponent for round 2 is also from the province of Alberta… the city of Edmonton.  The Oilers defeated San Jose to make it to this round, and statistically both the Ducks and the Oilers were pretty equal.

Game 1 of the 2nd round was on Wednesday, April 26 at 7:30 pm.  As in the first round, the Ducks offered Lucky Duckies for $10, and I picked a lucky duck: a hat signed by goal tender Jonathan Bernier.

Game recap

In the first period, the Ducks and Oilers did not score. In the second period, both teams scored 1 goal.  The game exploded in the 3rd period, when the Oilers scored 2 unanswered goals, making it 3-1.  The Ducks rallied back and tied the game 3-3, only to lose to the Edmonton Oilers with a flukey bounce, and an empty net goal.  For a Ducks recap, click here.
