On Saturday, January 25, Dodgers Stadium was transformed into a hockey arena. The Kings were host to the Anaheim Ducks, and as a season ticket holder, I got priority to purchase tickets. We were told that the upper tier seats were better to see the game, and the tip was correct. Even though our seats were quite high up, we had a great view, and center ice.
The ticket said game time was 6:30 pm, but the game didn’t actually start until 7:30 pm. There was pre game hoopla, like having the band Kiss play a mini concert, and Wayne Gretzky drop the ceremonial puck. Vin Scully greeted the crowd, and other Dodger greats were in attendance like Tommy Lasorda and Fernando Valenzuela.
The game was perfect. The weather was a cool 60 degrees at puck drop, our seats were unobstructed, and best of all, the Anaheim Ducks blanked the LA Kings 3 to 0.
