Irvine: Hen House Grill

This Mediterranean restaurant was originally located off Culver Drive near Wholesome Choice market.  As of 2016, they have relocated to this Campus Drive location. This current location is steps from the UCI campus, and is not as stuffy as the old location. While there’s a few tables to sit inside, they have a covered patio area in the back (with heaters) and plenty of tables in the front of the building (to share with other tenants).

I had the number 8, the boneless chicken plate $9.99.  Stephen had the Olvieh (chicken salad) sandwich $7.99. The boneless chicken plate came with grilled vegetables, a mound of fluffy basmati saffron rice, and a huge lavash type bread, while the sandwich came with a green salad.  At the end of the meal, I asked for a cup of their Persian tea, which is complimentary.

Parking can be difficult during busy times, as there’s multiple restaurants sharing this mall.
