The final two games of the regular season were against our hated rivals, the LA Kings.
The Ducks entered the contests with no playoff spot. After beating the Kings in the first game, they clinched a spot in seventh place. After beating the Kings again on Saturday, the Ducks leaped over them for fourth spot, and secured home ice advantage for the first round.
As of right now we don’t know who the Ducks will face. It’s either Chicago Blackhawks or the Nashville Predators. If Detroit beat Chicago today, the Ducks will face Nashville. The Ducks fared better against Chicago, but in playoffs it starts fresh.
