Road trip: Arizona Coyotes

The Ducks’ last game of the season was going to be on April 11th in Glendale, Arizona, home to the Arizona Coyotes.  I got a group together to do a one day turn around trip, staying next door at the Renaissance Hotel.

On the Friday night before, I went to John Wayne airport and picked up a rental car at Alamo.

Our ride for the weekend

We left my house at 7:30 am, and made a few stops along the way.

At 12:30 pm, we made it to Buckeye, AZ and stopped for lunch

From Buckeye, we were only about 45 minutes from the hotel.  Unfortunately at 3:30, our room(s) were not ready yet. Fortunately, the Makse sisters had their room, so we stayed there for a bit, before our rooms were ready.

Following the game, we walked around the Westgate area, and then used our free drink coupons that the hotel gave us, as compensation for our rooms not being available at 4:00.
The next day I sent a text to the valet for the car, and we had Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

After making a stop at Starbucks, we made our way back to California, with a pit stop at the Texaco just 5.8 miles from the border.
