We were in Las Vegas last December, and I did a little bit of gambling at The Cosmopolitan casino. I must have donated enough money, as I was rewarded with 2 night’s complimentary stay. I booked a room, and was offered an upgraded balcony room facing the Aria hotel for only $30 a night, so I thought why not? Like many Vegas hotels, they smack on a “resort fee” of $30, which gives you access to the pool, fitness center, domestic calls, and high speed wifi. So basically my room was $60 per night before taxes.
A few days before I received an email from the Cosmopolitan, reminding me of my visit, and they also gave me a mobile check in link. So while on the road toward Vegas, I was able to check in, and provide an ETA of my arrival time. I was given confirmation that my room key would be ready between 12:00 – 4:00 pm in the Audience Lounge.
The entrance of the Cosmopolitan parking is located off Harmon, not off the Strip. When you pull in, its more like a lobby rather than a dirty parking structure. Gorgeous columns and lighting greet you as you pull in, and the check in area was to the right as soon as you walk in.
Michelle greeted us, verified my ID and card, and gave us the keys to room 2614 in the West Tower. We weren’t at the very top (I believe there’s 60 floors) but we were still quite high.

After we had settled in, we headed toward the Linq for dinner at the Brooklyn Bowl. On the way there, we ran into participants of EDC: Electric Daisy Carnival, a freeloving musical festival that was being held this weekend in Las Vegas. Apparently, showing skin and love is the main attraction.
We had 6:30 dinner reservations and didn’t realize that they had Happy Hour between 5:00-7:00 pm. Stephen and I shared the Rock n Roll fries, which is basically a poutine, with 2 types of cheese, gravy and cajun spices over skinny fries. We also shared the fried chicken plate, which was a 4 pieces of chicken dipped in a matzo batter, fried to a golden crisp, served with mashed potatoes and collared greens mixed with bacon. We added a side of cole slaw for added greens.

After dinner, we decided to walk the Strip, and ended up at the Bellagio. In front of the Lily, a bar and lounge, a lady was handing out BOGO coupons, so Stephen and I had some drinks, and took a few selfies.
After our post dinner drink, we were heading toward the Conservatory when we came across a Sphinx 3D slot machine. We decided to play a bit, and I hit a decent payout of $70-something.
We finally made it to the Conservatory, where the theme was the ocean/ sea creatures.
While heading back to our hotel, we stopped to watch the Bellagio Water Show.
Finally we made it back to the Cosmopolitan. After a few hours of finding little luck on slot machines, we decided to head to the opposite end of the casino to give the Goldfish2 a try. Around 2:00 am I hit a decent streak, and cashed out with a good payout.

It was only 2:30 am, and I was craving the Secret Pizza, located in a hidden area on the 3rd floor.

After consuming our pizza and diet coke, we finally called it a night around 4:00 am. Or was it closer to 5:00? At this point, I wasn’t sure, but we slept in until noon.
