While I was on vacation in Europe, my Anaheim Ducks were doing poorly at home and on the road. I was not able to make opening night or 3 other home games, so when I came back from Europe, the team had a record of 1 win, 7 losses, 2 OT, and second to last in the Western conference. My first official game for the regular season was not until Sunday, November 1 against the Nashville Predators, with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss, 2 OT. Perhaps my return will help turn the team’s luck around??
It was hard to get into the hockey mode when being away for so long, but as soon as I sat down in my seats, the feeling of being a hockey fan, even in 80° weather, started coming back. I forgot how nice my seat location was, on the blue line with a great view of the ice and the new high-def scoreboard. Once the puck dropped, the Ducks came out fast, and did a very good job of scoring three unanswered goals in the first period. Could they hold on to this lead? A few games ago in Dallas, they had the lead and blew it by letting Dallas score 4 unanswered goals.
The Nashville Predators try to rally back in the 3rd period, and were able to score 2 goals. Fortunately the Ducks held on, fought hard for the final score of 4-2. I must say, it’s good to be back home in Southern California and perhaps my attendance was able to help the team!
