Tan Hoang Huong, also nicknamed THH, is a Vietnamese sandwich and coffee shop. There are multiple locations in Orange County, but this one is located 14081 Newport Avenue in Tustin, right off the 5 freeway in a crowded little strip mall.
THH is known for their inexpensive Banh Mi sandwiches, but they also have other popular Vietnamese food items such as hot and cold noodles, spring rolls, and rice dishes. My coworkers and I needed something quick (and cheap) so we came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We arrived early at 11:30, as we wanted to dine in, and this location has but a handful of tables and counter space. As soon as we ordered, we grabbed the last table for 4, and the line to order formed out the door.
My coworkers wanted hot noodles and had the Bun Rieu, a crab noodle soup. I ordered a bun, which is a cold vermicelli noodle topped with grilled pork and eggrolls. Both noodle dishes were under $6.
It may not be the best Vietnamese food we’ve had, but it did the job in filling us up, and the bill for the 3 of us, including a Vietnamese iced coffee, was under $22… which is definitely cheap eats!
