Culver City: Honey’s Kettle Fried Chicken

Los Angeles has no shortage of Fried Chicken, and one popular place is Honey’s Kettle Fried Chicken.  Honey’s used to be located in Compton, California, and now located in downtown Culver City, next door to Tender Greens, just a few blocks away from Sony Pictures Studios.

I was there earlier this year and enjoyed the food so much, I decided to take advantage of a $30 Groupon over the Memorial Day weekend.  At first, we thought spending $30 would be difficult.  Add a drink, and a side, and we went over the needed amount.

I had the 2 piece with mashed potatoes and biscuit, while Stephen had the sampler, which was a piece of chicken, fish, fries, and hush puppies. I added a corn on the cob, and we both splurged on a large drink.  We had to shell out $4 and change more for the food.

This is still probably one of my favorite Fried Chicken places in LA, with Pann’s and Roscoe’s edging Honey’s out.  The staff can be a bit abrasive, and the service can be slow.  There’s 1 hour parking in the structure behind the building, and, the seating can be limited as well.
