On August 21, 2016, Imagine Project officially launched their theatre company with a fundraising gala. The money raised from the gala would go toward the production of The Tale of Turandot, which include the venue cost and for the Mask & Puppet Designer, Aaron Cromie.
The event was held at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, California, with the amazing & talented Jeffrey Landman as the Emcee.
The event kicked off at 5:00 pm, and various people in the entertainment community were in attendance, including family and friends who also helped make this theatre company a reality. There was food, live music featuring the band Shady Jaguar, and a live performance by the hilarious Arlecchino & Colombina from Studio Zanni.
In addition, there was a raffle drawing and a live auction, featuring 2 art works, one by Southern California’s own 3-D abstract painter – Irina Fahradyan, and the opportunity to become a sponsor to the 2 lead characters from The Tale of Turandot.
The event could not have been made possible without these generous sponsors.
About Imagine Project
Imagine Project is a theatre company dedicated to producing theatrical experiences for young audiences. They are LA County’s only union theatre company dedicated solely to children’s programming. Imagine Project is focused on:
- Telling relevant stories and dynamically engaging with today’s youth, inspiring our young citizens to face life with creativity, insight and courage.
- Hiring local union talent, and thus creating union workweeks for our artists.
- Casting and hiring artists that are representative of the diverse population of our city. This includes artists with disabilities.
- Choosing programming that reflects the voices of the under served members of our community.
With this event, Imagine Project is one step closer to seeing The Tale of Turandor come to life. However, they are still under their goal.
