Our European trips seem to always start off in London. Probably because airfare is cheaper, and London is just a fun city to visit. As usual, it was cold, even in March.
Our first day we met up with long time friends Karen, Helen and David for dinner at a pub near Covenant Garden. The next day we went to Windsor Castle with another friend, Jacqui. After touring Windsor, Jacqui treated us for a Cream Tea… which is a proper cup of tea and scones which you spread buttercream and strawberry jam. It was definitely the highlight of my day.
In Barcelona we did the touristy thing of tapas hopping, visiting the La Sagrada familia, took pictures of the Gaudi architecture located around the city, and ate wonderful meals. In Madrid we went to the Prado museum, took in a Real Madrid futbol game, took a tour of the bullfight arena (got to see real blood in the sand!), and even took a day trip to Segovia to see the aqueduct and ate a suckling little piggy. Absolutely delicious!
