I had a craving for chicken pie, and was about to go to Marie Callenders when I remembered the La Palma Chicken Pie shop.
Don’t let the exterior fool you. This place is an Orange County institution, even the inside of the shop hadn’t changed since the 1950. There’s no frills, and its an old restaurant. The staff has a very dry sense of humor, so don’t be offended when they give you a hard time when you order.
The prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. Their specialty is, of course, the pot pie. The pies are small but meaty. If you are a hearty eater, I’d order an extra pie, or soup. A complete dinner is enough to satisfy, but not over stuff. A great place for families, especially seniors.
