Valentine’s Day at Atschel in Frankfurt

Its Valentine’s Day in Frankfurt. I asked yelpers in Berlin to recommend a place to eat and they suggested Atschel Restaurant, which serves up local Frankfurt fare. The reviews were very positive, and when we arrived for dinner, it was packed.

We waited at the bar and had apple wine, which is what the region is known for. Its actually wine, not cider, so it was a bit strong for me. I found out later that many people dilute it with soda water. Stephen didn’t seem to mind finishing my drink though.

It’s communal seating, so we made some new friends.  For dinner I had a schnitzel, a breaded pork with a gravy, and spatzel, a dumpling in the form of noodle. It was a delicious Valentine’s Day dinner.
