#GetLowPho with Dos Chinos

Veteran Food Truck Dos Chinos has (as owner Hop Phan calls it) a tiny little storefront in Downtown Santa Ana inside the 4th Street Market. He carried over the menu from his popular food truck, with food items such as his Oahu Shrimp tacos, his Bolsa pork bowls, to his massive Stoner Fries.  However for one week, Dos Chinos was offering customers a special menu item: Pho with brisket, which was perfect as Southern California was experiencing an el nino rainstorm.

Karen and I stopped by here after work on a Thursday, and the clouds were gray but not ready to burst.  Not only did we beat the rain, we arrived just in time to grab the last of the handful of bowls left.

While it was a bit pricey for a bowl of pho at $9, it was a filling bowl.  We had 6 fairly thick slices of brisket, and a hearty serving of noodles.  The broth was good, but not excellent, as I felt it was a bit salty.  It was definitely a nice change from a venue which normally serves food truck food.  I would definitely recommend this pop-up menu item, only hopefully the next batch of broth isn’t so salty.

To those not interested in Asian-Fusion food, the 4th Street Market has 15 other food places to choose from, ranging from burgers to sandwiches to seafood to fried chicken.
