Anaheim: Zankou Chicken Armenian food

I’ve been coming to Zankou Chicken for over 10 years.. maybe longer? I’ve lost count.  For years I’ve been coming to this tiny Armenian restaurant for their a rotisserie chicken plate which comes with  2 sides and a pita.  I flip flop on my side dishes between hummus and a salad, or the fluffy basmati rice and hummus.  The key ingredient that made this an amazing chicken was their garlic paste. Otherwise, it was excellent rotisserie chicken, but nothing super extraordinary.

Recently, I decided to try the pita wraps, and ordered the number 8: The Chicken Tarna. Its a pita filled with thinly sliced seasoned chicken, their addictive garlic sauce and tomatoes.  It also comes with the pickled beets and peppers.

O-M-G what a delicious sandwich.  Basically, I got everything I wanted from my chicken plate, but in a handy sandwich, and what was even better was the price… about $7.00 for a sandwich that left me satisfied, yet coming back for more.
