I’ve been coming to Zankou Chicken for over 10 years.. maybe longer? I’ve lost count. For years I’ve been coming to this tiny Armenian restaurant for their a rotisserie chicken plate which comes with 2 sides and a pita. I flip flop on my side dishes between hummus and a salad, or the fluffy basmati rice and hummus. The key ingredient that made this an amazing chicken was their garlic paste. Otherwise, it was excellent rotisserie chicken, but nothing super extraordinary.
Recently, I decided to try the pita wraps, and ordered the number 8: The Chicken Tarna. Its a pita filled with thinly sliced seasoned chicken, their addictive garlic sauce and tomatoes. It also comes with the pickled beets and peppers.O-M-G what a delicious sandwich. Basically, I got everything I wanted from my chicken plate, but in a handy sandwich, and what was even better was the price… about $7.00 for a sandwich that left me satisfied, yet coming back for more.
