Santa Ana: Jinny’s Pizzeria at 4th Street Market

Jinny’s Pizzeria’s official grand opening is March 1, but the store has been opened since the middle of February to work out the kinks.  It is located inside the 4th Street Market food hall, in the corner spot located next door to Sit Low Pho.

Originally I was supposed to have a bowl of full next-door, but the aroma was so tantalizing I figured how can one slice hurt?  For $4, I got a huge slice of cheese pizza. The large slice of pie did remind me of the time I went to New York City…. not too thin, crispy but can still be folded.  The only thing that was missing was the nice charcoal flavor you get from NYC.  Too bad California forbids using coal ovens.

Truly, a great bargain and a cheap meal on the go.

While you can get pizza by the slice, you can also buy a whole pie ranging from $22-$30. I thought the price was a bit high, however, judging from the size of one slice, I’m sure a whole pie can feed a lot more than a 2-3 people, compared to those typical commercial pizza places (ahem Papa John or Dominos) can feed.

Overall, the price and quality is great. I cannot find any fault for my slice of pizza, and will come back to try a slice of another.  Conveniently a bar is across the walkway, and it would go so well with a slice.
