Fathers Day at Naples Rib Co.

Naples Rib Co is probably my favorite barbecue joint in Southern California. Aside from the hit and miss service, there’s very little I can find fault with.  To start off, check in on yelp and get a free 1/4 onion brick with barbecue sauce.  They don’t offer 1/4 brick on the menu, but a half brick is $7.99.  A quarter brick is enough to whet our appetite.

The food is usually spot on. My go to choice is their tri tip and chicken combo, at an affordable price of $24.95. You get a generous serving of tri tip (I believe at least 6 ounces) plus a quarter dark or white meat chicken, 2 sides (I chose baked beans and mac n cheese), plus the vegetable of the day (usually corn on the cob) and a slice of fruit.

Stephen had the build your own combo, and chose 2 types of ribs, the hot sausage, and also baked beans and mac n cheese.  The Dads ordered ribs and tri tip (no photo, as they could not wait for the camera to eat first).

The tri tip is tender and melts in your mouth. In the 20 years I’ve been coming here, I think I’ve only had one bad meal.

The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is their service. Each time I visit, I seem to get a server who disappears when it comes time for drink refills or even for the check. On this Father’s day visit, the table next to us turned over 3 times while we ate.. which either tells us that we eat slow, or the other table had a faster server.

Parking can be tricky, but they do offer valet for $3.
