Tea places are dime a dozen in Orange County. What makes this place different is Roasting Water serves up their cold drinks in reusable containers and at prices no higher than their competitors like Bambu, Tea Station, Class 302, Lollicup, etc..
Their eco friendly, and freaking cute containers lured me into this Garden Grove location. My friend Selene (Soysauce714) posted a photo of her drinks on Instagram and I made a special trip with Karen after our Taco Tuesday jaunt.
This Garden Grove location is located to the right of the Regal Cinemas, in the shopping plaza off Brookhurst and Chapman. I heard there’s usually a line out the door, but when we arrived, there was only 4 people milling around, waiting for their order. The place ooze of cuteness. Cute mugs hanging on the wall, and there’s even a display of them. I am not sure if any were for sale, but they were sure cute to look at.
I ordered the black almond milk tea ($3.75) while Karen had the Pure Strawberry smoothie… and its exactly just that, pure strawberry with strawberry chunks for $4.95. She enjoyed her drink and inhaled it in the car. I’m not used to sugary drinks so my milk tea was a tad too sweet. I need to remind myself to ask them for 1/2 the sweetness next time.
The container is about 16.5 ounces, with ice taken into consideration. They don’t fill the vessel full of ice, but just the right amount to keep the drink cold. Straws are available, which were just the right height for the container.
Was it the best drink I’ve ever had? No, so that’s why its not a 5 star experience. However the fact you get a cute container that’s reusable is enough to get me back.
