Santa Ana: The Olde Ship

The Olde Ship has 2 locations, one in Fullerton off Harbor Blvd. and this one in Santa Ana, just down the street from Santa Ana Community College.  This location is much larger than Fullerton, and has more parking. When you walk in, there is definitely a British “pub” feel to it. Most of the staff are from Great Britian and there’s plenty of ex-pats who visit.  Once a month they have quiz night, and you can see how much you and your team know trivia.

For this visit, I came with my friends Bonnie and Todd for lunch.  I had the lunch Fish n Chips with a side order of mushy peas.  Todd had the lunch portion of Cottage Pie, served with peas, carrots and gravy, and he ordered a cup of soup.  My friend Bonnie is a lighter eater and had the bowl of soup with extra bread.

The lunch was made to order, so it took a bit to get our food. This is unfortunate if you’re on the clock and have only an hour to eat.  Let’s say we didn’t take an hour lunch today. The food was delicious, hot and fresh.  I have nothing bad to say about my fish n chips, and the mushy peas were spot on… nice and mushy. Lunch for 3 (I had a cola) came to $49 and change.  The only ding is their speed. I know food is fresh and made to order, but over an hour for lunch is not worthy of a 5 star review.
