On Wednesday, October 18, the Anaheim Ducks hosted their annual “Face-off Fest” for their season ticket holders. The event has evolved over the years, but the main highlight of the event is allowing the fans to meet the players, coaches, broadcast team and getting a photo and/or autographs with the team members.
Even though the gates didn’t open until 5:30, fans lined up early to get ready to queue up at their favorite player’s canopy. Upon entry, the Ducks gave each fan a map and a voucher for a snack: a pizza, hotdog or hummus with a drink.
This year’s event was held inside and outside, with the players under canopies throughout the parking lot area, while activities such as skating on the Ducks ice, visiting the Press Box, checking out the player’s locker/ dressing room, or chatting with the broadcasters were held inside. As soon as the gates opened, we scurried to the Ryan Kesler line to get my jersey signed.
After we got our jersey signed, we got a quick bite at the concession stand before queuing at the locker/ dressing room tour.
We went to the Team Store, picked up a “hockey Halloween” shirt, and outside took a photo with the Power Players before calling it an early night.
