December 2018: Hello, Miami!

When I was younger, we usually went on a family vacation during Christmas.  As I got older, it got harder to take the time off but this year we all went on cruise to Cuba, Colombia and the ABC islands in the Caribbean.  We arrived Miami at 7:00 am, and had a few hours to kill before we could board our ship, the Azamara Journey.  I hired a private car service, Miami Vice Limo to drive us around Miami, showing us highlights of the city.

Our driver and owner of the company, Guillermo started us off at Miami’s midtown area known as the Wynwood which were known for the bars, nightlife and their graffiti walls.

Our next stop was crossing the bridge to the Miami Beach’s famous Ocean Drive, where people cruised the streets to see and be seen.  There’s a lot of famous bars and restaurants, and it was the home of Versace, which is now a museum.

We made a coffee stop in Little Havana, at a cafe called El Pub, which served Cuban coffee and snacks like empandas and croquettes. My parents had the cafe con leche (coffee and milk) while Stephen had the cortado. We shared a potato croquette and a meat ball. Tasty!

We walked around Little Havana before the sky started getting grey.  By then, it was time to head over the the cruise ship terminal, and start our vacation!
