After a long day of distillery hopping, it was time to get something to eat. We wanted to try something different, with flavors distinct to the area. Burgoo was one such dish, and the Elkhorn Tavern was recommended on Yelp.

Burgoo is a dish made with elk, rabbit and beef, like a stew served and with a corn muffin made of the corn mash from the distillery.
In addition to the Burgoo, Stephen had a flight of the local whiskeys, and we shared a charcuterie. Stephen really liked the flight.

The food was delicious but the service was slow. I think the place was understaffed, as the server was also the bartender. If you can overlook that part, give this place a try.
