Every chef’s dream is to have their own restaurant. Starting with a gourmet food truck is the most economical, and it also helps build their street reputation. Dos Chinos, Jason (from Lime Truck), Tropical Shave Ice are among many who are making this transition.
The latest is Shortstop BBQ, who had a soft opening yesterday. The menu is pretty much the same as their food truck. I chose the special Duck sandwich, as it’s not usually on the menu. It was very filling, and very good. It’s a tiny “take out” place with just a few tables and chairs. The bonus about coming here is you don’t have to chase a truck, and you can call ahead to get the food to go.
