Anaheim: Hooters

Hooters are known for 2 things: Their chicken wings, and the “Hooter” girls.  Hooters is also a great supporter of our local Orange County teams, the Anaheim Ducks hockey and the Angels baseball team. Fans will visit the restaurant before or after a game, as its located across the street from the Honda Center, and literally across the parking lot from Angel Stadium.  Even when the teams are on the road, the restaurant will show the game on one of the many tv screens, and will even have drink specials.

They also have great a Happy Hour, where the appetizer menu is half off until 6:00 pm. When the Ducks are on the road, Karen and I will come here to catch the game on tv, and enjoy the half priced fried goodies.  My usual happy hour go-to is ordering 2 of the wing appetizers, making it 10 wings for the price of 5, plus an order of the beer battered onion rings.. which are sinfully delicious.  The onion rings are fluffy and too addicting, and at half price, who could resist?

Excellent beer battered onion rings, also 1/2 off during happy hour

The servers are nice, but sometimes it is hard to get their attention for service. I would not consider this place a family friendly restaurant, but surprisingly many families bring their kids here to eat.  It definitely is a bar more than a restaurant, and they do cater towards men.  I don’t expect much when I come here to eat… as long as the Hooter girls fill up my soda glass, and bring my food in a somewhat timely manner, they’ll get a decent tip from me.

This location is off the 57 freeway and Katella, near the Honda Center.  It is also a cheap place to park (usually $5) if you are attending an event at the Honda Center or Angel Stadium.
