Memphis, TN: Civic Rights Museum/ Lorraine Motel

Many people visit Memphis for Elvis, but just as many people make their pilgrimage to pay homage to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel, and it’s now the home to the Civil Rights Museum.

We didn’t have time to go inside to visit, but we made certain to make a special stop and check out the famous, historical site. At the time of our visit, reservations was required.

On the balcony is a wreath where Dr. King was shot. In the sign below, there are grey tiles which shows the protectory of the bullet, disclosing the location where the assumed gunman was.
